What to Expect in Perinatal Therapy

Becoming a parent can bring a mix of joy, change, and emotions you may not have expected. Whether you’re preparing for parenthood, navigating pregnancy, or adjusting to life postpartum, perinatal therapy offers a supportive space to help you feel grounded, understood, and more confident as you move through this transition.
My practice supports parents as they navigate the emotional shifts, identity changes, and relational adjustments that come with growing a family.

Every parent’s journey is unique. In our work together, you’ll find a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore what you’re experiencing emotionally, physically, and relationally during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
Common areas we may explore include:
-
Emotional changes during pregnancy or postpartum
-
Anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, or intrusive thoughts
-
Shifts in identity, confidence, and sense of self
-
Relationship and communication changes
-
Fertility challenges, birth trauma, grief, or loss
-
Balancing work, family life, and personal needs
Perinatal therapy is collaborative and supportive. We work side by side to build practical tools, increase clarity, and help you feel more grounded during this transition. Perinatal mental health affects the entire family, and therapy can be a space for parents and partners to process emotional shifts, changing roles, and relationship stressors together.
Our work may include:
-
Developing coping strategies for perinatal or postpartum anxiety and depression
-
Building emotion regulation and grounding skills
-
Support around bonding, attachment, and connection
-
Strengthening communication and co-parenting skills
-
Exploring how past experiences may be influencing current stress
-
Navigating fatigue, sleep changes, and overwhelm
This is a space where you can be honest—about the exhaustion, the fears, the identity shifts, the joy, and everything in between. Our work evolves as your needs change, offering steady support from pregnancy through postpartum and into the ongoing transitions of parenthood.

You don’t have to navigate this season alone. Perinatal therapy offers compassionate, evidence-based support to help you feel more anchored, connected, and supported—in yourself, your relationships, and your growing family.

Therapy for More Than Parenthood
While perinatal and parenthood mental health are a central focus of my work, I also provide individual therapy for adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. You do not need to be a parent to work with me—therapy is a space for support at any stage of life.
